Data Science

My research in applied geometry and topology overlaps with my interest in data science, particularly in the areas of shape analysis and registration, time series analysis, and data fusion. I also have experience teaching machine learning and mentoring data science projects:

Capstone Project Manager for Duke Masters in Data Science (MIDS)
(Duke, Spring 2020).
Instructor for Math 466: Mathematics of Data Science
(Duke, Fall 2019, Spring 2021, and Spring 2022).
Instructor for Stats 302: Principles of Machine Learning
(Duke Kunshan University, Fall 2020 and Fall 2021)
Co-Instructor for Math 1620: Mathematical Statistics and Data Science
(Brown, Spring 2019).

Worked under Sam Watson in building course content for Brown’s Data Science Master’s program.

In 2017, I participated in the Brown Data Science Hackathon (Datathon). Together with my teammates, Jeroen Chua and Sunny Yang Xiao, we came in third place with a project on predicting smartphone users from accelerometer data across a variety of movements.
